日本国憲法　第25条  

社会権のひとつである生存権と、国の社会的使命について規定

1.すべて国民は、健康で文化的な最低限度の生活を営む権利を有する。 

2.国は、すべての生活部面について、社会福祉、社会保障及び公衆衛生の向上及び増進に努めなければならない。 

英文 Article 25.

1.All people shall have the right to maintain the minimum standards of wholesome and cultured living. 

2.In all spheres of life, the State shall use its endeavors for the promotion and extension of social welfare and security, and of public health.

日本国憲法　第13条   

個人の尊重（尊厳）、幸福追求権及び公共の福祉について規定

すべて国民は、個人として尊重される。生命、自由及び幸福追求に対する国民の権利については、公共の福祉に反しない限り、立法その他の国政の上で、最大の尊重を必要とする。

英文Article 13.

All of the people shall be respected as individuals. Their right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness shall, to the extent that it does not interfere with the public welfare, be the supreme consideration in legislation and in other governmental affairs.
